What the…
DROP IN:
I provide low price, non-judgmental drop-in dance classes. Drop-in classes do not require a subscription or a commitment. Pay for a class- experience that class!
BLENDED:
Group classes are all LIVE, but sometimes I will offer a ZOOM link to include virtual students.
STYLE:
I’ve got a smattering of different classes by genre or experience. If you're just starting out, used to dance when you were little, want to up your audition game, or want to take your pullbacks to the next level... I've got you covered!
CENSORSHIP:
I treat these classes like a professional rehearsal, so we don’t edit out cusswords or difficult subject matter if those ever come up in the songs or shows we are dancing. I make sure parents know this and give the OKAY before their teens proceed. It’s all handled with professionalism and care. Every class is not a cuss-fest, but use the music as it was meant to be heard.
SAFETY:
I care about our health and safety, so as we move through each class I will ask for feedback and give alternative movements to those who want them. This is a movement class, and each dancer takes class at their own risk. Each reservation has a liability-release attached before you confirm.
WHITNEY BRANAN:
I’m an SDC director/choreographer. I’m a SAG-AFTRA and AEA performer. I’ve performed across the country and over-seas. I spent 13 years working in New York City, and during that time I was a resident tap-coach for the Broadway show Billy Elliot and two of its National Tours.
Tl';dr: I know what I’m doing, but I’m not an ass about it during class.
What do I need?
Zoom for virtual classes
Your body for in-person classes
Tap shoes/hard-soled shoes for tap classes
Tennis shoes with low tread, barefoot, or socks for other movement classes
Character/jazz/low-tread sneakers shoes for musical theatre- bring them all because the genre will change from class to class
Clothes you can move in. Think yoga class!
